Jonathan Rhone
President and CEO

Jonathan Rhone is President and CEO of Nexterra Systems Corp. a leading developer and manufacturer of biomass gasification systems. He has an extensive track record with energy and technology businesses including Dome Petroleum, Amoco Canada and The Delphi Group. He serves on the Board of the BC Technology Industry Association (BCTIA), the BC Premier’s Technology Council and Chairs the BC Clean Tech CEO Alliance. In 2009 he was also honoured as the BCTIA's Person of the Year.

Jonathan Wilkinson
Senior Vice President, Business Development

Prior to joining Nexterra Jonathan was President and CEO of QuestAir Technologies – a publicly traded technology company with activities in clean energy and traditional energy markets. Prior to assuming the CEO role Jonathan held the positions of COO and Vice-President, Business Development. Before joining QuestAir, he was a Manager at Bain and Company, one of the world's leading strategy-consulting firms. Jonathan also has previous experience in the public sector having served as a constitutional negotiator, a federal-provincial relations specialist, and a Special Advisor to a provincial Premier. A Rhodes Scholar, Jonathan has obtained degrees from the University of Saskatchewan, Oxford University, and McGill University. Jonathan is presently Vice-Chair of the Walter and Duncan Gordon Foundation and is the immediate past-Chair of the British Columbia Technology Industries Association (BCTIA).

Mike Scott, LLB, CBV
Senior Vice President, Corporate Development

Mike Scott has had a distinguished 17 year career as a senior investment firm executive, investment banker and lawyer. He began his career as a corporate and securities lawyer with McCarthy Tetrault. In 1998, he joined Raymond James Canada (formerly Goepel McDermid), one of Canada's leading independent investment banks. In his eight years there, he held a number of senior roles including Vice President - Corporate Development, Senior Managing Director - BC Investment Banking, and Executive Vice President - Head of Capital Markets. For the last three years, he has been focused, as both an investment banker and a strategic advisor, on working with Cleantech companies. Mr. Scott is a Chartered Business Valuator and a member of the Law Society of British Columbia.

Dejan Sparica, P.Eng.
Vice President and Chief Engineer

Dejan Sparica has over 10 years experience designing and implementing industrial-scale combustion systems and over 18 years engineering experience. Prior to joining Nexterra, Mr. Sparica was Contract Department Manager at Salton Fabrication Ltd., Western Canada’s largest manufacturer of wood-fired energy systems and lumber dry kilns. At Salton, Mr. Sparica was responsible for design and project management of turnkey energy system projects for customers in the forest products industry. This includes implementing multi-million dollar projects ranging in scale up to 240 MMBtu/hr for customers such as Weyerhaeuser, Weldwood, Slocan, Bowater, Louisiana Pacific and West Fraser. Prior to joining Salton Fabrication Ltd., Mr. Sparica was a Senior Project Engineer with the Casmyn Group of Companies, a global resources development company.

Philip W. Beaty, P.Eng.
Vice President, Sales

Phil Beaty is an accomplished sales executive with 20 years of experience in applications engineering, sales and marketing of industrial energy systems. From 1988 to 2001, he was Sales Engineer for Salton Fabrication, responsible for application design and sales of wood-fired energy systems and lumber dry kilns to the forest products industry in western Canada and Australia, including sawmills, plywood and veneer mills, and OSB and MDF plants. Prior to this, he was Sales Manager with Hayes Dana's Industrial Products Division and Project Engineer with Weyerhaeuser Canada Ltd., Solid Wood Division. Mr. Beaty is a Professional Engineer with a B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining Nexterra, he was Director of Sales and Marketing of Etho Power Corporation.

Tim Kukler, CGA, CPA
Vice President, Finance and Administration

Tim Kukler is a co-founder of Nexterra with over 17 years of financial management experience and is the company’s Vice President Finance and Administration responsible for the company’s financial planning and administration. Prior to co-founding Nexterra in 2003, Mr. Kukler served as VP Finance for Etho Power Corporation and as Director of Finance with IFCO Systems Canada Inc. Mr. Kukler also held various financial management positions with Okanagan Skeena Group, a publicly traded broadcast and media group and started his financial career with Carlyle Shepherd & Co. CA’s. Mr. Kukler obtained his Certified General Accountant (1996) and Certified Public Accountant (Delaware - 2000) designations in addition to a Bachelors of Business Administration from Trinity Western University.

Branko Stojkovic, P.Eng.
Vice President, Projects

Branko Stojkovic has over 20 years experience in mechanical, process, instrumentation and control system engineering, project management and industrial sales. Prior to joining Nexterra, Mr. Stojkovic worked on international biomass energy, paper and glass industry projects in the USA, China, Germany, Czech Republic, Ireland and the former Yugoslavia. He has held senior engineering positions with Trimill Industrial Systems, Universal Dynamics, Glass Inc. International and Iskra Delta Computers. Mr. Stojkovic has a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace Department) from the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia. He is a Professional Engineer and a member of the APEG of BC.
